History of The Accounting Club Software

The Accounting Club Software is built on the strong foundation of NorthSoft Systems' (NSS) PowerGL Accounting Software, originally developed in 1992. NorthSoft Systems, founded by Mark Swann, has been a pioneer in custom accounting and point-of-sale solutions. Initially designed for the MS-DOS environment, the software transitioned to Microsoft Windows in 2001. Over the years, NSS expanded its expertise into industries such as hospitality and snow resorts, providing cost-effective and integrated solutions for businesses of all sizes.

One of NSS’s standout products, PowerGL, became well-known for its advanced features, including seamless import/export capabilities, SQL-based reporting, and strict adherence to GAAP principles. PowerGL was particularly valuable for its integration with other systems, making it ideal for large and small accounting organizations.

In 2021, Breeze Business Management began the beta testing phase for what would become the Breeze Accounting Club Software, an evolution of NSS's original PowerGL software. This software was designed to address the growing need for a virtualized, cloud-based accounting solution. By 2024, The Accounting Club Software became fully operational and available across Canada, offering an intuitive, user-friendly solution for accountants, bookkeepers, and businesses. The platform now powers accounting solutions through its Partner Program, providing an easy-to-use, cloud-based alternative for financial professionals.
